Reading & Language Arts
The Superkids Reading Program captivates students from the start with tales of the Superkids. These relatable characters and their ongoing adventures provide an engaging and cohesive framework for literacy success.
Superkids is a comprehensive English Language Arts curriculum crafted for grades K–2 using evidence-based literacy practices. This researchbased, proven-effective program follows a unique systematic and explicit instructional path through engaging and increasingly complex text.
Our students spend time each day working on decoding and comprehension skills, reading independently (or with a partner) writing independently, listening to reading, and engaging in work (high - frequency sight word activities). Our curriculum utilizes a balance of fiction and informational texts. Kindergartners become confident members of a reading and writing community.
Math
Mathematics lessons are designed to nurture effective problem solvers. Students learn about numbers, counting to 100, adding, subtracting, measuring, identifying shapes, graphing and money.
Students use numbers, including written numbers to represent qualities and solve quantitative problems.
Spanish
Students will learn:

Science & STREAM
SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, RELIGION, ENGINEERING, ART AND MATH
Science units include: living and nonliving things, the five senses, plants and animals and their life cycles; weather and the seasons, caring for our planet, continents and oceans and weekly STREAM activities.

Religion
Kindergarten students learn about God, Jesus and the Holy Family. We study saints and their feast days, Church seasons and celebrations. We pray together every day, attend special prayer services: Rosary, Stations of the Cross and all school Masses.
Social Studies
Social Studies concepts include the rights and responsibilities of belonging to a family, school, and faith community; our country, its holidays and symbols; and map and globe knowledge.
